Planning to use Ubuntu for programming. Intend to run IDE like Eclipse, NetBeans etc. Will also need to run command line tools like git, curl, gcc, make, Apache, MySQL, PHP, Python etc.
Ubuntu has several variants like Lubuntu, Xubuntu, MATE, Kubuntu KDE, GTK, Ubuntu Gnome etc. If I choose one of these variants, instead of the official one using Unity desktop, will it create any problem in running the IDEs and tools above?
Most of the tools are command line ones, except for the IDEs that have a GUI interface.
