Hi all, in a bit of a dilemma here. I'm currently enrolled in NUS CompSci for Y2019/2020, however I've also applied to UK universities for Computer Science. I've received an unconditional offer from UCL for Bsc in CompSci, however their CS rankings are consistently below NUS's, hence the dilemma.
TimesHigherEducation UCL#18 vs NUS#13
TopUniversities UCL#32 vs NUS#10
Even amongst other UK universities, their CS side seems to be lacking, despite their rigorous admission qualifications. I know university rankings are often inflated and should be taken with a pinch of salt, however this is the only basis I can prove on that it's a worthwhile investment to my parents.
Finance wise, I'm still awaiting news from a prospective DSTA scholarship. However in the off chance that I do not get in, my parents need proof that this is indeed a wise decision. Despite so, I can't seem to find any proof that UCL CS is superior to NUS CS to warrant the cost. UCL maybe more prestigious in reputation compared to NUS, but is that all there is to a university?
Would appreciate any helpful input on this topic, thank you.
