Anyone took courses from Udacity

Is it worth it? And does this certification aids in finding work-related jobs in SG? Or is it more applicable for overseas?

Occasionally I'll see jobs eg. http://www.indeed.com.sg/rc/clk?jk=9463299a77c559b0 which would explicitly state udacity certifications but that's still a drop in the ocean. Nevertheless, it's the skill that you learn which is important, not the certification itself. Personally, I would recommend coursera specialization courses instead as they are designed by universities.

Hi MSTechnologyAssociate, thanks for the info and the link for coursera.. It certainly has way more options as compared to Udacity.

Sorry, have two noob questions here as I seem to get myself confused...
1. But can I assume Coursera is sort of like a distance-learning but online? Similar to the Udacity too?
2. Are the lessons live? I am getting the impressions that some of the courses are while some are not..

yup.

nope, none of the classes that I know of are live. you can download the videos and do the assignments at your own pace. but if you want the certificate, you will have to do the assignments/quizzes before the deadline.

I see. Thanks for the information! It will certainly add values to my resume/ knowledege..

As will be my first time doing such online courses if I am picking up any of the lessons, was wondering if you have any tips or advices for a beginner for me, such as what to look out for etc etc?
