Usually stay at Shinjuku but for a change, would like to try Ueno. As it is last minute, I cannot get Toyoko Inn there. Any other budget or not more than SGD150 for single room and near station? Thanks.

I just booked APA Ueno Ekimae first to play safe. Any thoughts? Will continue to listen to better suggestions if any.

You can use hotelscombined.com and search for the best price.

The price also depends on the length of stay.

I usually like Asakusa so I stayed twice at Red Planet Asakusa.
Relatively cheap then.
About $100 per night for 1 person and also got good view of Skytree Tower.

Oh fair enough, pay for the location. For solo, rm size shd b OK. For me I always stay a few stops away from ueno (the place I like/visit most) for ~$100/nite.

Togneya fully booked for my dates. The other one, reviews suggest it is not that near station actually?
It is slightly further. Nearer to the iriya exit of ueno station. But Ueno station quite big, so it will be a long walk if u go out from the main exit.

I like the Super hotel chain coz their free breakfast spread is very good, better than toyoko Inn. And vending machine is free during breakfast hour.

Another one I stayed recently is ueno sardonxy. Quite ok, location is very good. But room is small, and breakfast nothing to shout abt

Thanks, bro. If Toganeya becomes available, would you rank it above Super?. I will keep checking booking sites. So far I have booked APA Ueno Ekimae and Tokyo Ueno Hotel. Both still cancellable.

Toganeya is good because of the location. Super is good for it breakfast.
So really depends on wat is ur priority. If u have kids or elder, or large luggage, then maybe toganeya would be better. If walking a bit more is not an issue, can go for Super hotel.

How long did you take to walk to station? Some reviewers put 15min.

I managed to get Super Ueno Iriyaguchi. I am sold on the good free breakfast even if having to walk a bit. Plus the price is $100 cheaper over the 3 nights compared with APA and Ueno Hotel.
