I did a search for UHD IPS monitors with G-Sync capability, and apparently there are only 2 options: Asus PG27AQ and Acer XB271HK.

Strangely, these monitors have been out in the market for some time and yet none of them are available locally.. any reason?

I'd have to guess that there isn't a big market for gamer-centric 4K displays...yet. Fact is you need top end graphical power to even get decent frame rates on a 4K display and you also pay another premium for the gsync module. I think most people who buy 4K displays aren't gamers so they will skip the acer/asus models for regular 4K displays with more emphasis on picture quality/colour gamut instead

Once the GPU power catches up to UHD resolution then I think there will be more demand for monitors like this.

I'm still waiting for a 40 inch 4K ultra wide OLED 200hz display for my next monitor:)
