Hi all....probably wrong section to post but no idea where to post also.

i have a degree in one of the local uni. Plan to throw letter soon becoz too stress and work hours too long , too much firefighting ... either thinking of find a new SWE job (then comes the next problem - where? I also not google tier) or make a switch to UI / UX.

i don’t think my SWE skills are that strong hence thinking of trying out a different field (doesn’t need to be design, UX writing also ok). Is there any courses I can pay for, to try to develop a more solid portfolio? GA is one of the bigger names but from what I heard, depends on the instructor skill level too..

I previously had UI / UX portfolio also from my uni work but I think too average riaos totally 0 call back lol. Meanwhile SWE coz relevant degree so much easier get call back ...

Consider applying to Merck & Co. They opened a UI/UX hub in Singapore years ago. Although the pay isn't fantastic, it will lend you experience to make the next bigger jump.

For a field like UI/UX, work experience matters far more than courses. Unless you are learning from some famous instructor (which most of them are based in US). Alot of the UI/UX stuff you can just pick up from online coursera courses.
