Any exclusive or hard-to-find tea at Uji, not commonly found in retail outlets in other cities. Am thinking of doing a day trip to Uji from Osaka in Dec. Thanks.

But i like Itohkyuemon in Uji. Another brand i love is Ippodo near Nijo Castle in Kyoto

Thanks for the recommendation. Will try.

Yes, Ippodo is pretty commonly available. Many dept stores. I have been to both their stores in Kyoto and Tokyo.

I think Ippodo got the best tea already. Many Kaiseki places also use their tea. If you want, u should try their higher grade range.

Which would be considered a higher grade range?
Indeed, price-wise, their tea is at quite a high premium relative to other brands.

I find gyokuro a bit bitter. Probably my unrefined taste bud. That is already with the less strong range. Haven't tried tenkaichi before. 天下一 impressive name :)

the highest range one got sweet taste instead of bitter.
yeah. the name represent their highest range. number one in the world.
