Hi all, so I'm planning to get a new laptop soon probably during the upcoming IT SHOW.
What I have in mind now is that I would prefer to get an Ultrabook as portability is a key factor.

Here's are the models that I have in mind:

Dell XPS13 i5-7200U 8GB+256GB (non-touch)

HP Envy 13 ab021TU
c05271354_500x367.jpg

specs:
- Core i5-7200U at 2.5GHz
- 8GB+256GB
- Intel® HD Graphics 620
- 1.43 kg
-13.3" 1920x1080 display
→ http://h20386.www2.hp.com/SingaporeStore/Merch/Product.aspx?sel=NTB&id=ECC_BUNDLE_6316848&opt=

I may also consider the:
Asus Zenbook UX330UA-FC072T
16hcQha.jpg

hPrxkfa.jpg

or the
Asus Zenbook UX410UQ-GV024T

Any recommendations for which above models should I get? Or is there any model that's also good too that I possibly missed out?

Thanks! :)

Wouldn't recommend the Envy - have plenty of issues and bad experiences with regards to build quality and persistent issues on my Envy 15. Any particular specifications required and usage purposes i.e. such as gaming? Instead of the Zenbook, you can look at the Asus K series range of ultrabooks - much more affordable with better specifications - dedicated gpu.

On top of that, there is the Xiaomi Air and Microsoft Surface as well for your consideration

Oh my, didn't know that the HP Envy has quite a few problems. Actually thought it will be a pretty good buy, considering the premium aluminum build quality and the price.
Looks like I will have to strike it off my lookout list haha~ :s13:

I will be mainly using Office apps and some multimedia usage like videos etc. I don't really need good graphic cards as I don't do intensive gaming, a decent one will do I think.

I went to Asus website to take a look at the K series, the K401UQ seems pretty good for what the specs is offered but I'm having second thoughts on Asus after hearing bad stories on their after-service.
I myself is currently using an Asus laptop too and I really like it, would still prefer to get an Asus but I may also look on other brands to give them a try.

I actually thought of the Mi Notebook Air too, but the fact that it has no local warranty here doesn't entice me to get it haha. :o
As for the Surface Pro 4, I thought of it once too but I would prefer getting a full-fledge laptop.

Confirm the Asus models will be cheaper than the XPS13 haha, but I will have to see first though since I asked before about Asus and some told me to shun away from them. :o

Is the Surface 3 running the Windows RT one?

Get Dell XPS13 if u have the budget. Quality wise Dell=HP>Asus. Asus is the cheapest among these 3 brands.

Personally my Envy 15 has had the following replaced:

1 x Power Adapter - Due to Crackling sound

1x Motherboard - Unable to charge unless battery is removed and reinserted

1x Battery replaced

1x Screen replaced due to dead pixels / discolouring on 4 corners of screen - Replacement screen suffers same issue on one corner.

Currently issues faced:
Speaker and 3.5mm headset issue - music plays on both regardless of settings. Seems to be driver related though am alittle lazy to trouble shoot

Nope! Surface 3 is running full fledged Windows.
Though that's said, there are rumors of Microsoft bringing in an ARM variant of Windows 10 to their Surface line up.

Only Surface 1 and 2 are RT variants - have one myself currently - works for my usage patterns where I remote in - but that's for another day.

Go for XPS13 or UX330. I'm using the UX305UA. Battery life is very good. But watch out for QC issue. The panel is not aligned(the LCD is 1 or 2 pixels more to the right so the black border is more prominent on the left side).
