Gigabyte F2A88XM-D3H + Kaveri 7850k + GSkill Ripjaws 2133 Cas 9. Stock cooler. 1 HDD. Windows 7 64bit. Bios version F4 (out of box). Bought last Friday.

On load with CS:GO:
HWInfo64: Curr/Min/Max/Avg
CPU0: 36.4C/28.8C/43.4C/34.9C
CPU0 Package: 85.4C/77.8C/92.4C/83.9C

FYI: EasyTune6 (the Gigabyte S/W that comes with my mobo) says my temps are fine (like CPU0). BUT the bios says my temps are similar to CPU0 Package.

I have no idea what to trust, but I haven't blown up. YET. >_<' In fact, I *haven't even been throttled* according to EasyTune6.

Sure I'm using crappy headway 500W PSU, but I don't think I've even hit 180W. I have NOTHING else on the board but 2 sticks of RAM and the proc.

I already reseated the stock HSF once.

Any advice? Ignore sensor data? Or something genuinely wrong? I plan to get a better cooler but I can only do so weekend. >_<'

Well I'm getting 60s on IDLE... 80s on LOAD...

It's not normal. For a board with nothing else on it and using stock cooler, my proc temps are ok, but package temps are impossibly high.

Edit: Add to the fact that according to ET6 I'm not being throttled - even if I have Turbo and C&Q disabled (max speed is therefore 3.7), and I'm left scratching my head.

Sounds like a job for a change of thermal paste at least, but I don't have time to hit Sim Lim until sat. Why doesn't neighborhood Challenger sell this stuff >_<

Try another program called "CPUID hardware monitor". See if the results are the same. I don't trust 3rd party programs that much if the temperatures don't match the original utility program provided by the Motherboard.

no need to panic. cpu readings are way screwed on the APUs. Use a temp gun or use ur hand to touch heatsink. it's not at the stated 80+deg load or 60+deg idle.

I have a mITX built for my non-gamer bro.. A4 5300 APU and yes, the temps are screwed in terms of Core temp measurements. Duo core but both core readings are vastly different. Impossible.
But I realize the temperature under TEMP01 (Motherboard) matches the reading from my bios, so I always refer to that reading. Chances are, if your cpu ain't that hot, it means your mobo ain't that hot either.
The GPU, HDD readings are trustable though.

HWMonitor by CPUID says under the exact same conditions:

Bios still reads insanely high stuff, 68~70, but no throttling whatsoever....

I plan to replace the HS assembly, and I think I have a likely candidate, an old Socket 939 HS (for a single core Athlon 3500+) which, if anything, has better proc surface contact area than the stock FM2+ HS. It has no fan tho, because that broke down a long time ago. If I can get a CPU fan that fits (bracket is still there)...

Edit: Also, my touch tests seem to check out. Underside is ok, and the HSF is, well, working. I have not touched any other part of the mobo outside of the HSF and the underside, and the HSF I use an indirect touch test (touch a paperclip to the HSF for some time, then feel how warm it is...). Inside of the case is warm but not uncomfortably or alarmingly so, even with the case closed for about 2 hours of CS:GO.

Bro if you are worried about the temps, can consider getting a Deepcool Gammaxx 200. Costs about $18.

At this price, nothing else comes close. Personally using the Gammaxx 300 on 2 PCs. Cheap, quiet performer.

I went for your Gammaxx 300 suggestion instead of the 200 - Overkill, but why not. Its... very good value, and I hope they don't jump the shark ever.

Bios CPU temps are now. 56C (was 72C). Still a bit too high, and still think its not actually the CPU temp this board is measuring, but I was indeed cooking *something*. I can't figure out what, but it seems a lot safer now.

Am disregarding HWInfo and HWMonitor results currently - Package Temp/TMPIn1 still gives ludicrous values.
