Unable to install window using external DVD ROM

Im using external DVD-ROM as i didnt have a internal...

I set my Bios to
1) Boot from USB and
2) Boot from DVD ROM as 1st piority

Im able to boot from DVD ROM using USB 3.0 to install my window, but after the 1st part which is loading the temporary files, it says it cant find the setup file from my DVD and request me to insert it...
Taking a look at the DVD-ROM, my DVD-ROM is not working(no power)...

Checking all my USB ports, all USB 3.0 has no power (Both front panel and back panel), using 2.0 can... But as i only got two 2.0 ports, i cant install at all, coz i need at least 3 ports.. (1 for mouse/keyboard, 2 for DVD-ROM)..
Any one got any idea how to power up the USB 3.0 ports all the way or solve this problem to allow me to install my windows?

If you claimed no power then how are you able to do initial boot up??

Im able to boot up initially... But after loading the temporary files from the DVD, when going to install the window, all my USB 3.0 turn off, including mouse/keyboard and etc... only left the USB 2.0 which is still on...

Any way to power up the USB 3.0 all the way? Or is there any config that i need to do or miss out?
Or i heard there is a way to install through thumbdrive, but installation is all in DVD, how to transfer it to thumbdrive?

I seem to remember that the mouse may not be necessary for windows installation. Just the keyboard will do. If you need the mouse, pull out the keyboard and plug in the mouse.

can download windows 7 iso, make a thumbdrive bootable and install windows from thumbdrive?

if not..u need drivers to install windows de...

2 ports [USB2.0] for external DVD-ROM?
You means 1port for data signal & another port for the power.
If so, you can try to use a external DC adaptor-to-USB 5v 0.5A type to connect as the another port.

SOLUTION.

No big issue here, as I'd gone through this scenerio before.
If you only had 2x USB 2.0, just use 1 Keyboard, while the other use it for ext. DVD rom or USB bootable drive.
Reading the windows 7 dvd doesn't requires you to plug in the auxilary power.
Installing steps simply just use TAB to scroll through the options.

Using USB 3.0 will OFTEN gives you that 'cant find the setup file from my DVD' error.

This or this, pick the one you most comfortable with. :)
