Unable to update to iOS10

Problem sia my mother's phone. Bought an iPhone 6S & it keeps saying unable to check for update. Even though it shows OS10 is available but it refuses to download. Have rebooted the phone to no avail. Anyone know what the issue is?

Her's is out of the box so dunno what version. My own 6S+ no issues from ios 8 to 9 then to 10.

Am trying to update my mum's via a country club's free wifi. Her phone brand new w very little apps, hard to be no space.

Ok seems like some issue w the club's wifi. Tried again at my house & its ok. Weird!

Free wifi tends to be very unstable, good to hear it's resolved
