Undecided on specs

Hi All, with my current 5yrs old rig having intermittent issue and Black Friday looming by, I'll be getting new rig but kind of undecided if I should go for a higher spec or a decent enough spec.

Usage will be mainly for surfing, streaming, and gaming. No plans to OC for now. Will be reusing a GTX 1070ti from my friend. Would be great if you guys can have some input on the below builds or let me know if there is any better component or online deal. TIA!

Go for 16gb ram. 4x2 sticks are horribly useless unless you're aiming for a super-budget build(but since you use a 1070ti thats obv not the case)

hey bro those two options you have are pretty solid! actually you can make some changes or combinations to really get the most bang for your buck in terms of immediate performance whilst leaving adequate room for future upgrades =)

SSD: Crucial MX500 500GB SATA or ADATA XPG SX8200 480GB NVMe
PSU: EVGA Supernova G3, 80 Plus Gold 650W
Casing: Phanteks P300 or Fractal Design - Meshify C Dark are both fine

i would recommend the MSI Tomahawk over the Asrock B450.

as for the RAM, i can understand if you really are on a tight budget and want a dual channel 8GB ram for now so i found a Team T-Force Delta II for you and it has RGB cuz i noticed you have a preference for RGB. it also has DDR4 3000 with semi tight timings so you can have higher 1% lows in FPS gameplay whenever you stream your games. since the MSI Tomahawk has 4 DIMM slots, you can add another two sticks of similarly high frequency when you've accrued enough savings. however, if you want to just set it and forget it, I also picked out for you two different brands of dual channel 16GB ram that meets your RGB preference whilst having a high frequency and semi tight CL rating.

for the storage option, I would recommend an ADATA XPG 480GB minimum NVMe or if you have no preference over M.2 or SATA, you can choose the Crucial MX500 500GB SATA. 500GB would be better capacity for your main boot and storage drive. I would not recommend going for a HDD as secondary storage right now because SSD prices are on a downward trajectory and you can really get a lot of value by getting value 1TB or 2TB SSDs as your secondary storage options. they don't have to be as fast as your Crucial MX500 or XPG SX8200 BUT they will certainly be multiple times quicker than a HDD imo.

the PSU you've chosen is fine imo. i understand you may use your PSU to connect to your USB hubs and other peripherals(RGB keyboard and mousepad etc) which also require some wattage from there so your choice of 650W isn't overkill or wrong imo =)

both casings you put up are fine as it ultimately comes down to your own preference in terms or aesthetics. hope this helps bro and all the best for them Black Friday deal hunting! haha

As for SSD, is there why Intel 660p Series M.2 2280 does not seem to be good choice here? Reviews from Tomshardware, Storagereview, Techspot are pretty decent and since I'll not be using for large file transfer, it shouldn't be much of any issue. At it's price point, I think it quite a good deal.

660p has horrendous sustained read/write speeds. So bad you may get almost equivalent performance with an 860 evo.

go see linus tech tips in youtube, he has a review on this intel ssd...i didn't finish the video but seems not good from his point of view.
