Underclocking ram?

Recently got a pair of 2x8gb ddr3 gskill ripjaws rated for 2400mhz. Cl 11-13-13-31 @ 1.65volts. If i want it to run @ 1600mhz, what would be a good clock timing for me to set it?

9-9-9-24 is optimum

Will it be possible to go under 9 9 9 24 @ 2400mhz? Slightly undervolt the ram at 1.625v can?

You can just try and see, though I don't think that is possible.

Only trying will tell you, although you are probably asking too much. Don't randomly drop timings, keep them in increments of 1-1-1-3. Ram tweaking is mainly a pseudoscience for end-users, there's no one size fits all.
