Hi All,

I m currently using Acer 4820T Laptop.
Running Intel Core i5 Processor 430M
2GB DDR3 Ram.
Running OS Win 7 64 bit

Just checked, my existing ram specs is 2GB 2Rx8 PC3-8500S-7-10-F1

Most ram available are DDR3 1333mhz or 1600mhz. It is suitable for my setup?

Many thanks in advanced:)

Cheers

1333 should be fine for you but dont mix your 1066 with 1333..technically it is possible but not recommended

will work.

his one is DDR3-800mhz

DDR3-800? haven't seen such RAM before. :s22:
Typically most laptop equip with either DDR3-1066/1333 rams.
DDR3 SDRAM - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

PC3-8500 represent the moudle name/model for DDR3-1066 spec
rams.
TS can either:

  • Install just 1 stick of 4GB 1066/1333
  • Get another similar speed 2GB ram
Though u can install higher speed ram but it is recommended
to install the same speed and ram size ram.

you guys should readup more.
If you put a faster & a slower RAM of the same type;
for example:
DDR3 1033mhz
DDR3 1333mhz

Installing them both will case both of them to run at a lowest bus speed(among all the RAMS)
in this case: both Rams will run at 1033mhz.
