Hi guys, I have a Seagate FreeAgent GoFlex. It has decided to die on me but I have some data inside that is important to me, and I'm hoping to recover them before sending it for RMA.

What happened was that I was accessing a video in the HDD. Halfway through the video, it froze. So I forced closed everything and tried to replay it but now the HDD is absolutely undetectable and doesn't show in Disk Management, though I can hear feel it spinning when it's plugged in, and the LED on the case is lighted.

Can anyone recommend some ways to help recover some of my data inside?

At this stage, it is way beyond casual users to recover the data inside.
Determine if data worth the hundred of dollars spent on professional data recovery?

Learn your lesson to backup, backup and backup.

Hi...
For this case that happened on you, you should bring to the IT shop and ask them to backup all the files for you before you going to RMA your hard disk.
