Unicorn is set up by people who was in IPPFA. As for their profile, I cannot comment much..

Their investment newsletters (which they kindly put on their website) seem to say that they're big on selling ILPs. They might be nice people but they're not good IFAs - ILPs are basically a commission machine for the people selling them, and they're a bad product for the people buying them.

I'd go elsewhere for financial advice.

As an ex-financial advisor, i have to agree. ILP is a very difficult financial product for most people... it is terrible for most people.

And... honestly, "Unicorn" Financial Solution? The marketing guy who created this name should be hanged AND shot.

terrible name for a financial company.

Don't think they are into ILPs. Probably their own unit trusts portfolio.

If experts can be trusted, there will not be a film about these so called 'experts' titled wolf of Wall Street.
Why don't you just buy what 'experts' analyst recommend all the time instead of doing your own fata...

2013: Profit $100

2014: Profit $143 !!!! 43% increase!!!!!

No wonder Wahkao say good :s13:

Hehe, a sharp mind like Limster picked it up already.

First year profit 1%
Second year profit 1.43%

Woot woot

Same story as, first year gain 50%, second year gain another 50%, third year lose 50%.

Overall is still lose money

dont always think the complicated ways.
the 43% is based on the capital sum i invested.

?
for that, probably you just need to ask the professionals. i am just an accountant! :)

If you are an accountant, surely you know the difference between 43% increase in capital and 43% increase in profit.

So far, all your posts in this newly registered account are for the purpose of promoting Unicorn. And your careful replies to each and every one of our replies to your post. Such a nice personal touch. You must really like Unicorn a lot! :D

More importantly, you have impressed Wahkao. Because if Wahkao say good, it must be good! Last I heard, he is selling his house to invest in some sure-win forex strategy, when he gets his profits from forex trading, I'm sure he'll consider investing in Unicorns!

Yes, surely they do impress me quite alot.
but i am not saying all of them because i've never met all the consultants before :)
besides, i believe in sharing and not keeping. when they are good, i will wisswish to recommend it to my friends and fellow Singaporeans.

cheers! :)
can u plot the total return equity curve? i want to see how volatile. skarlee ish zigzag type.
got some fund factsheet in standard format let me see?

When you put in money, what is the hidden fees?
when you take out money, same, what are the hidden fees?

like i said, i am just an accountant and i find your question kinda profound.
probably you would know more about investments than i do. plus, maybe i am just so lucky that i have such a FA :)
as for the hudden costs, there are costs, but not hidden. when i put in, there is a 3% initial cost. annually, there will be a 1.25% vost i think?
they will be deducted using the capital or profit amount being put in.
as for taking out, nope, there are no costs to it.
plus i can check the current amount online everytime i want. 😆
lets say last time u invest that time, first day u check, what is the value
2nd day check, what is the value
3rd day check
etc etc

Then plot the value out as a function of time, let me see how volatile it is.:o

I don't always log in to post, most of the time observing the conversation here.
Shall comment from my experience...

A friend of mine is with Unicorn, jio me out for a drink as usual and ask me to buy (invest). My simple reply: "Sorry Bro, i prefer BTIR and will not touch my CPF."

from then onwards, no more usual drinking session :s11:

Till now, still dunno is it because:

1) no potential gain from me (as a client) OR;
2) busy meeting clients & monitor their portfolio

U decide...
