since you already know JS is the queen of minimalism and have enough knowledge of her to assume we don't know anything at all, aren't you contradicting yourself by saying 'let her go wild?'

fact is the normal uniqlo shirts look almost identical in terms of cutting design and color to her +J SS shirts.

Sorry but what I mean is that its basically still Uniqlo clothing and whether or not how flashy Jil Sander's design is...Uniqlo will still want their elements in.

i paid 500-600 for some of the jil sander shirts which i own. On the rack they look like g2k as well. Onli when you try it on the fit and look at the small details then u can see they are miles apart from g2k.

like what sneg mention, Jil sander is all about minimalists design. Dun expect to see lots of front bips/pleats/ruched plackets/contrasting colour collars etc on the shirts.

I compare the normal uniqolo shirts and +j ones there is some differences in terms of cutting and the fabric used.

the fabrics used for the +J shirts are excellent, the only gripe i have is they crease too easily.

cutting wise, some are very good on me, while some tend to make my waist look expanded.

I am just like you, having spent a bomb on the +J collections...need to tell myself to stop.

so what you think of the +J collection?

my initial impression was they are G2k lookalikes...even the +J shirts seems to be replicas of the normal uniqlo shirts..

for eg.

http://store.uniqlo.com/jp/CPaGoods/057554

vs +J's

http://store.uniqlo.com/jp/CSaGoods/298070-74

makes me wonder if Jil Sander was actually involved in designing the +J shirts at all...

of cos not la,. ... u really think that Jil Sander will do the designing by herself for Uniqlo?
what i think is she may have a team of designers to do it. Of cos ... designers also got senior or junior right? Just like us in our jobs, also got senior cashier or junior cashier mah ...

so for all we know, those +J collection could be designed by junior designers working for Jil Sander.

nice.
i got this shirt last Fri, S size. but turns out that the cutting for this shirt is slightly smaller than the usual regular/slim fit +J shirts.
went back to 313 the next day to try and exchange for an M size but no more left.
in the end had to change for a different +J shirt.

The thing about the +J is the cut. I find the quality and fabric barely acceptable, but it's Uniqlo after all, and the pricing is alright.

thanks...will have another look again.
guess pretty much the smallest size is gone :( as usual.

well, the vintage chino they have is pretty baggy and the smallest size is 79
the +J flat front trousers does not look slim thou.

huh? i bought a 73 +J flat front with matching blazer... all gone?!
was still contemplating at that time on whether to get the pants as well...
guess that i'm fortunate to have gotten both... :s7:

with all the limited sizes and all, now i'm wondering if this is a marketing gimmick...

Honestly,

These are my own perspectives.

+J fabric is average.
+J cut is still baggy, doesn't taper well on the waist.

Design is far too conservative, its far too vague, far too basic in order to convey the minimalist ethos which she's supposed to epitomise.

Ive often see "minimalist" designers focusing on these aspects of clothing.

1. Subtle designs which do not stand out and make the shirt look awkward.

2. Super Slim Fit cutting.

3. Ultra Luxurious Fabrics.

If you shop @ club21/front row(woods & woods) often you will know what i mean. +J is definitely not on the route to renowned acclaim amongst designers.

+J, given that she's probably limited by uniqlo on fabrics, i could probably understand that, but conservatism is no excuse for lack of creativity.

1.She could have improved the cuts for the sizes as well...S size and M size could take on a more fitted approach on the waist etc..

2.No excuse for a plain simple button down shirt, she could have implemented more pleats, or epaulettes.
