Increase bass for UM 3DD

Hi all,

i've been using the 3DD custom IEM for about 3 months already. Although i'm using the magnet that gives the strongest bass, i still feel that the bass is quite lacking. I'm also using the Silver Sonic MKV cable.

Can anybody advise me how else can i boost the bass, without using an amp or something. I'm playing the music from my Samsung GN3. Each MP3 is about 8mb. Will changing of cables help? I was told that using some silver coated copper will help?

Thanks!

May i know what is SPC?

So copper will help with base? Isn't unique melody's cable a full copper already?

SPC is.. as what taeyonie has mentioned above.

and as to your question..

Copper has varying levels of purity and thickness and no. of strands in a wire and so much more details... to put it simply, Copper has different grades

copper normally (generally) brings out the lushness of vocals and adds more "oomph" or "kick" or slam bass.

and as for SPC, silver plater copper, means that the core cable is copper, but plated with a small amount silver.. the reason for this is mainly for a compromise between silver cables and copper cables. some people like the in between sounding of silver cables and copper cables... therefore there's SPC.

imho, 3DD would be best paired with either copper or SPC.

Hi all,

thanks for the input.
May i know if UM's default cable is considered a good copper cable? If not which one would you experts recommend that i try?

I like the crisp that 3DD + Sonic MKV provides, but it is really lacking the "boomz". Today i used back the original cable that came with the 3DD and indeed there is more bass, but less clarity.

Is there any SPC which i should be try? At stereo maybe?

Or should i just go sell my 3DD and get a Merlin, which i tried the univerals and find that the bass is really something that i like.

I'm planning to sell my DIY SPC cable. See your PM.

on the other hand, you might wanna look at both UM Merlin (Stereo) and Rooth LS5X (Null Audio).

imho, 3DD's bass is actually good enough... its either changing cables or getting a new CIEM.

Hi thanks for the info. let me think about your offer. Give me a few more days with my standard UM copper cable.

Hi guys, after changing back to the original UM cables, the bass indeed got better, something which i'm currently satisfied with. The **** thing is that with the new connector design, the cable keeps falling off.

Does anybody has any experience/review for the UE900 VI Cable? Is it a good cable to use? I really like the mic function. I know the previous UE cables were known to be pretty ****, but is this new one different?

Thinking of reshelling my Westone 4 which i have had since it's release date and would like to know how many drivers can I add into the reshell? Thinking of either just 1 or 2 more.

UM would be able to add 2 or 4 drivers for the W4. :)
