Planning to visit in December and perhaps stay in the attached resort. Any opinions from anyone who has visited?

I plan to stay near the attraction for the convenience.

indoor portion very little, most are outdoors, even some of the indoor rides queueing areas are outdoors
minions and transformers indoor

actually best time for universal is during cny
i went during cny 1st day last year basically everything no need to queue even rollercoasters

Just went universal studio Beijing today.

awesome. No queue. The most I queue is 30 mins. Able to complete all rides today. Some even ride 2-3 times.

However weather is cold but manageable.

How much did you pay for the tickets?

I’m there right now. Weather is fine, a down jacket is enough for me. Queue earlier for decepticoaster was 10mins but Harry Potter was 50mins. Didn’t know the transformers ride is same as USS so wasted 35mins there. Crowded I’d say but oh well it’s a Saturday hah

I just came back, paid $75 on klook, got 1 slightly cheaper if you only wanna enter after 2pm.

Likely to change my plans for this visit. It will be easier to visit the Great Wall at Badaling.

Good time to visit also, i visited the mutianyu , pretty empty due to the winter season

It's a different scenary when there is snow.

It snowed yesterday. Small snow now too.

wah you mean beijing snowing? wasted, i was hoping will snow during the 1st to 7th dec i was there, wanted to skate on the shichahai also but realised it was not open yet.

Snowed today and will snow tomorrow. Slightly heavier snow fall today as compared to yesterday's.

have u been to simatai? i find the view so much better there. but be careful when windy as there are sections without walls.

i treked the other way, unfortunately need to turn around due to strong wind. there were no walls on both sides.

Digressing from the subject of this thread, is there still a cable car at Jinshanling? i was unable to visit the Great Wall in my recent trip as I stayed a night instead of 2 in Beijing, and the very morning before I flew for home, there was only time to visit the Beijing Zoo. The zoo opens at 7:30am in winter.

The zoo opens at 7:30am in winter.

don't know about jinshanling but there is cable car at simatai to east watch tower 8. it wasn't operating when i was there in late autumn (not sure if it will operate in winter). cable car really short trek towards last few watch tower. pavement narrows to 1 or 2 bricks!
