Universal waterblock help!

Just got the EK Supremacy VGA universal waterblock. I heard vrams/memory need to be 'heatsinked' otherwise it will be toasted. Anyone knows where are these vrams/mem module that's on my GTX 580 that requires cooling? I think there is already a heatsink pre-fitted. Not sure... Photos below

Hi,

I think it's around the gpu processor, there are 12 ram modules there.
Need to paste thermal tape and micro heatsinks.

Not sure whether sls has them.

For the micro heatsinks you can check this.

the vrm only a bit hot, usually do not need to cool it. If u really want, then get some HS and put on them

Wah. If that's the case I'll just leave those VRAM alone. No idea what's the fuss people are on about. They say those VRAM can heat until 100+ degrees Celsius

For Gpu water-cool is good, but always remember to position a cooling fan to cool the PWm and the ram chips. Is a must!!!

Mine universal waterblock. Not full cover waterblock. Haha

yah,those are face block which customized to only one module and universal block just cool the Gpu core and can be used on many modules according to its mounting.

Position one 90-120mm fan at hdisk side to direct the air flow to cool the Power phases and the memory chips.

just need to blow a fan over the pwm.

When you take out reference cooler, just see which component is in contact with the oily tape. Usually those components need to be cooled.
