Maybe your motherboard CMOS battery flat, so prompt you to enter setup to check/change settings.

Hi all,

I have encountered this recently and i am not sure how to resolve this issue. Whenever i bootup my pc, there will be a black screen (see attached), can anyone enlighten me on this? thank you very much!

I am running on windows 7, motherboard is MSI H67MA-E45.

Yup like the other poster said, probably a bad cmos battery. Go buy a new one, 1 or 2 bucks from the hardware shops, make sure it's the same model, CR2032 i think. Remove your bad cmos battery, wait about 30 sec, then put in the new one. You will get the same message when you boot up again, just go into Bios, set your date, time etc, save and exit. Next time you reboot should be ok.

If it's not ok, could be a motherboard issue....

If the board bios is a uefi bios, you wont need to do any change of date and time in bios. Just head over to main screen and have your time re sync automatically. Once you resync you are good to go. ;) bios will auto update accordingly.
