so my main question is the choice of card for the cheaper mid end cards. so the two cards in question would be gtx 760 and the amd r9 280. in terms of performance i have seen benchmarks showing that the r9 280 performs better then the gtx 760 since it is a 3gb card. the thing is why is the r9 280 a better card yet cheaper then the gtx 760. why would anyone get the r9 280 then? pls enlighten me

AMD: more power, more heat generated, more performance, with cheaper price.

Nvidia: more expensive, same performance or lesser, lesser heat generated, power hungry.

Nvidia: Better reference coolers, ShadowPlay, G-Sync, TXAA, typically 1 bundled game

AMD: Better price:performance, Mantle (meh), bridgeless CrossFire (Hawaii-onwards only), typically 2-3 bundled games
