Hi,

Anyone has any opinions on these? The recent price looks quite good to buy in...

I have been telling people not to buy gold for months and recent price tell me that i am right. You are looking at the end of the bull run for gold, if you still want to enter now then good luck to you. You might need to wait for decades before you make decent money off it.

No, i didn't. If i did then you can say i am biased, you can check back on my posts, i have been telling people not to buy gold since its USD1700+. I mainly invest in bonds and equity now.

Gold has just touch new lows, told you right? Even japan print money cannot save gold price from sliding. The only thing that can prop up the gold price now is USA suddenly announce they are going to come out with much more easing or the euro break up, you need major bad news just to prop up gold price now.

No im not going to say u r biased becos u short, in fact i will congrats u for your short position if is still holding on now. Since u have a strong belief in the market, then u should have taken action. Many people can predict market, but no action = no money.

Everyone has their own beliefs and nobody would care what u said if u didn't show that u are "somebody who can make money".

Your percentage seem different from the one i saw, gold and silver were the standout yesterday.

I am just advising people not to get into gold/silver at this time thinking its only way is up. There is a lot of downside risks.

Ya it stood out, but overall commidities are down.
Even Apples is already quite far away from it's peak.

This gold is played by central banks, hard to tell it's direction cause everyone is lying.
Now EU is actually forcing bankrupt nations to sell their gold, rob their depositors, and borrow them fiak money.
JP and USA are still printing, and BOJ is printing against the wish of everyone with records high. Tickling others for a currency war.

I don't know how it will land up but i will recommend people to keep some real gold.

Gold is not for short term investment.

Yes you are absolutely right that gold is in a bear market and very likely to be on a decline for months to come ;)

But things can change very quickly in a matter of days so its still good to have some gold as hedge :D

Take for example Cyprus who took lots of wealth away from its depositors... before Cyprus came to the spotlight, its debt and borrowing cost were consider manageable.... Debt at 90% GDP and deficit to GDP at 5.3%

I can easily name a few Euro countries which are in similar shoes or worse by the cover.

Country, Debt to GDP, deficit to GDP
Cyprus, 90%, 5.3%
_________________________________
Ireland, 118%, 8.4%
Italy, 127%, 2.9%
Portugal, 119%, 5.0%
France, 90%, 4.5%
Spain, 86%, 8.0%
UK, 89%, 6.2%

So make your own judgement and see if having a little % of wealth in declining gold is a wise choice ;)

Congrats! U should consider adding more positions to short with everyone these few days...

And u will be better off if you switch to USD instead of SGD

I already close my position, surely there will be people chasing gold and it will bounce slightly, i will wait until i see signs if sliding then go in again.

I trust warren buffet, gold is a useless hedge. Stocks can do the same job while actually making itself useful. Gold is in a bubble more than anything. When those euro countries decide to cash out on their gold then i see how it turn out.
