Quick question:
I credit my salary into my UOB One account, every month i hit at least $500 on their UOB One credit card.

Thereafter, i transfer $2000 into HSBC Everday Global Account to meet their monthly fresh fund requirement.l I spend around $3k per month on the HSBC Advance card.

But i just wonder if it would have been better off if i park all my cash in UOB One to earn interest instead.
This is a very strange qn. Wouldn’t u be in the best position to compute given we don’t know what’s your respective bank balances and you already know what are interest rates you are getting

Does the fresh funds have to be deposited after registering for the promotion for it to count? Like if there was a transfer of money on 1 Jan, but only registered for promotion on 1 Feb, will that money still be earmarked for this promotion?

And I remember there was a salary crediting promo last month for $50 cash, and salary crediting is one of the Golden Carrot in this promo with additional $28 cash. Doesn't seem likely that if one has already registered for the $50 credit promotion last month, that it would count again for this CNY promo?

about 20k each
so total $40k? Max interest on uob one account is just 2.5% on first $30k, 3% on next $30k. effective 2.625% on $40k. There are other bank accounts with better interest. See which one give u more.

read the terms. it says measured against balance of the eligible account which is the one account here.
Ok, all the best!

Some people like me are not good at calculating and we calculate wrongly or do not compute certain things that we should. In another bank thread, the users say their interests are accurate down to the last cent, but my calculation of my interest is always off, often by a few tens.

I even have to go to the bank to queue up physically just to ask the officer how to calculate and copy down his calculation so that I can ‘revise’ at home and try it out myself. But when I don’t revise again, I forget totally. I’ll have to go to the bank and ask again. To give an example, it took me several tries to understand how to calculate 1% per annum interest meant. I also keep notes on the steps to calculate the progressive type of interest. I used to just dump my money in FD without knowing how much interest I would get because my calculation would not be accurate anyway.

It’s a lot harder when you are not a numbers person.

I think a little off on the interest he is entitled, he mentioned he credit salary and spend $500 on one card. So his first 30k shld be getting 3.85%. I'm one of those who dont know how to calculate effective interest, so I can't state how much EIR shld he be getting 😅

Today marks one month since I applied for a freaking credit card with no updates from UOB. Chased the CSO until I give up already. Keep getting generic answer like they are not able to advise when I would get. One CSO even power, say I need to wait 2 months to get my card.. Knn UOB is the first bank I've heard of where credit card application takes two months. Who will want to apply like that.

My point is that people should make some effort to try first. I think there will be some people happy to correct your formulas if you get something wrong.

A lot of us just don't want to be spoonfeeding people.

Just don’t reply. There are people who are happy to spoonfeed others. That’s what a forum is for. I have been spoonfed and appreciated it so I don’t mind spoonfeeding others if I have the answers.

Seeking for some advised on the recent lunar new year promotion. I was intended to deposit 50,000 to earn that $388 cash credit promotion. However there is a enmark period where the balance will not been shown , and not withdrawalable.

Does this period eligible for the uob one account interest of 3.85 to 3.9%. if we have credited salaries and minimum spend of $500

Some questions can be read one way or the other though, and I prefer to teach people how to fish.

Anyone knows how strict they are on this criteria of "being amongst the first 200 to apply for a UOB savings account online" in order to get the cash credit? I can't decided whether to apply now or start of next month.

Don't bother I try their other promo and quite sure I apply around 0005 hrs also cannot get. Since kind of first XXX promotion is black box to us so you go in blind. I will avoid such gimmick promotion in future

Is this UOB one or ocbc360 account better?
Does the $500 spending includes petrol, Sp bills and or mobile bills?
Or maybe if i were to look for a account with savings & credit of salary excluding spending, which is better?

I kinda stop trusting UOB promos. their 'limited' rewards... really a turn-off.

same for their coupons in their apps. easily fully redeemed or 0 left.

customer service also declining. RM not knowledgeable or empathetic, asked me to look at other investment products when I almost missed applying for SSB because the bank almost didn't make it in time to credit my money back from a matured SD.

now I just use their UOB One card to take advantage of the 3.33% + 5% cashback. must watch carefully every transaction and what was posted, etc.

their One account, on the other hand, is not attractive at all compared to other banks.
