Hmm, I set up family member's UOB one account to pay my CC by Giro, but didn't get activated .... first time it happened in the last 4 months...

Anyone encounter such situation before??

I also kena last month ..... even with $15 in the bill, also never get triggered.

I have a feeling is becos my wavier request for annual membership fee somehow already satisfy the minimum sum to be paid, that is why left $15 never get triggered by Giro ....

My bonus interest is in for Sept but only received $12. Something is not quite right as I received about $100 for Aug. Checked credit card spend and hit the $500 min and have 3 GIRO transactions.

The only difference for Aug is when I wrote to Geneco (paid via GIRO) to stop renewing my contract. But that expires in Nov.
Sorry for getting out of topic. But may I know why you stop renew Geneco? I thought the rates is better than SP?

(I'm a Geneco user too...)

Yes, UOB counts refunds/fee waivers as part of minimum payment.
So for Aug my credit card giro did not trigger, good thing is I have set up 4 giros just in case.
I recommend to set up >3 giros for your UOB One account.

plan to go with SP's wholesale rates. much cheaper but apparently the rates fluctuate on an half-hour basis. But looking at their past rates, unlikely to deviate much.

Better not, they will charge you when you go there close the account. The initial minimum balance for UOB One was $500 I remember. Then, I left $1000 in there and on one occasion it fell to $990 cos of withdrawal. It was below $1000 for months and I did not check. One fine day, I login and saw deduction of $5 per month. I immediately went to the bank to close it. Request for waiver is very tough at UOB. Whereas OCBC will help.

I was charged -$20 for 2 months, if i go to the bank to close now do i need to pay the $20? If i ignore it, anything will happen?

You officially owe uob money till u close the account and accumulate more if you still don't maintain the min going fwd.

Anyone knows to EIR for 75k with only 3 giro + $500 spent on cc?

I find it decent . Better than OCBC but depends also if you have investment , loans etc etc as relatively compared to even DBS multiplier

yup. I wonder how it is "the lowest". comparing to other salary-only account, it doesn't have tiered levels like OCBC or BOC. and it doesn't require the hassle of categories of DBS Multiplier.

rates are dropping across the board but it's certainly not "the lowest" out there.

with technology making leaps & bounds, i can't understand why GIRO still so inefficient

Giro is meant to benefit merchant not customer ma. Tell me what benefit giro give apart from using it as criteria. It ensure our money is deducted on time and pay to merchant.

I don't think so, check with them before, any form of digital wallet top up doesn't count to any rebate or miles. Apply across all banks also. If have I want to know also hehe.

So far ShopeePay has same MCC as Shopee, so it is counted.
The MCC could change in future, enjoy while it lasts.

did u really check with them? Had shopeePay transactions last 2 months and checked with CSO via chat, confirmed counted and as what yiwei pointed out, it has the same MCC code as Shopee.
