Hi guys,

Just want to seek clarification on the following.
I have just received my statement dated 13 Jan and there is $100 rebate posted on 2 Jan. It is also stated that my qualifying period is Jan to Mar.

1) The $100 rebate is for previous qualifying period from Oct to Dec 2018?

2) Lets say I am aiming for 5% rebate. I need to hit minimum spend of $2000 per month (and get it posted), within the period of
13 Dec to 12 Jan,
13 Jan to 12 Feb and
13 Feb to 12 Mar

Is this correct?

New to this card, can some gurus please advise.

1) Dun think the $100 on 2 Jan is for oct-dec quarter rebate as the rebate is usually credited just before the subsequent statement is generated ie 12 Jan. Unless you mean 12 Jan instead of 2 Jan.

2) Yes. In addition make sure there are at least 5 posted transactions in each and every of the statement months.

You are right, rebate is posted on 12 Jan. So it does not change anything to the qualifying period as discussed earlier?

13 Dec to 12 Jan
13 Jan to 12 Feb
13 Feb to 12 Mar

This is good news, those who cannot meet minimum spend or minimum transactions, just top up to grab. Get extra 5% some more.

Don’t think so. You need to meet min the criteria for rebate first, only then grab transactions get 5% more. Not the other way round

He is saying if short of spending to hit min spending or 5 tranx, use Grab transactions to hit these requirements.

My first reading was same as you. Then I read again and realise......

Huh, so can the min "$500/5 transactions" be made up of entirely grab transaction? I don't see the reason why not.

Technically if you spend exactly $500 for all grab products (ride, food, grabpay) you will earn 5%+3.33% ($25+$16.65) for every month of that particular quarter. I.e: at the end of each quarter you will get a total rebate of $125.

This is true. Provided it’s direct charge to CC. Not prepaid credits. Top up grabpay I read before is excluded IIRC. Same for any form of other prepaid stores value accounts i.e cashcard, ezlink etc. If someone done before 5x grabpay top ups ion a month and still get rebate pls come correct me. But this is what I rem from reading T&C

I will interrupt as Grab payment will be counted as part of the base.

Once exceeded min spending, they will be considered for addiction 5% rebate.

Any idea why Grab app keeps logging me out? I need to keep adding uob one card and charge $1 everyday for verification

I think they don’t want us to get the rebate?

I believe this is exclusive agreement between UOB and Grab.
I think either direct charge via CC or Top up to Grab Pay, will be available for rebate.
I would like to think UOB card is the only card we dont have to worry which type of Grab charging method is available for rebate.

Standchart also doesn’t matter what charging method as long it’s grab. 15% rebate capped at $30 with min spend $900 per month

Hope you are right bah. Logically seems too good. Coz anyone can just top up grab wallet (technically not spent) and still get rebate. For me I prolly won’t take the risk, think the 3.33% + one acct is fair enough.
