And they are all making us running here and there.
In early Nov, I open CIMB fastsaver paying 1%. In mid Nov I opened account with Maybank and moved from CIMB for the rate is 1.5%. Then in Dec, I had to move from Maybank to SCB for the rate of 1.6%
Any other bank offering higher than 1.6% for savings accounts without onerous conditions? Lucky that fast transfer makes moving around convenient.
Forget bank deposits. Open a trading account and buy ETF A35 (SG bond index) , this is practically a loan to different sg government institutions and related companies. You get apx 2.5% and can draw your money every time. Interest payment is only twice a year and you have to accept some flactuations in value (a few %) m, but if you want to long term save money, this is as save as a bank deposit and pays much more interest.
