UOL results help!!!

hello everyone! I need some advise here. I'm an BSC economics and management student and have just finish year three

My results

Year 1
econs pass
maths/ stats 1 pass
IBM pass
PSOC pass

Year 2
POM pass
esap pass
OTIA pass
POA pass

Year 3
ME Failed
Macro Failed
MSM Failed
CF Failed

Well, i'm not exactly sure why i flunk all this time round.. I rmb that my papers are 4 days in a row and i got really tired... well i guess the main reason was that i didnt put in enuff effort. hence, i need to retake 4 mods.

My question
1) Should i convert to biz degree to have more chioces of mods to retake? cus CF/ME too tough and qualitative for me.. i dont wanna redo and fail again.. ME/CF are required for econs and mtg degree...

2) well, i cant carry on full time as I need to fund the payment for my own degree now. possible to swap to part time?

3) issit possible to self study like 2 mods? if i request?

I'm really stucked now. hope to get some advice here.

1) I cant help u on this. Maybe u can go and check the requirement for Business degree. You can refer to SIM website to look for the requirement.

2) Yes, you can convert to part time. But need to pay for the admin fees

3) Yes, it is possible to self study. Can select from the ECR page.

Since you have 4 more modules..... and have to work FT....

take one module per year. UOL offers students up to 8 years for period of study. U can take your 9th paper on the 4th year (2013), 10th paper on the 5th year (2014), 11th paper on the 6th year (2015) and last paper on the 7th year (2016)...

Maybe you can convert to Business degree and take other easier electives? You should consider taking MSM and ME again. CF and MACRO maybe can change to other easier ones?

I took Cf and Macro this yr. Understand why is it hard. But seriously, you need more effort. Take about 2 mods a year.

What i can recommend is
Macro: Understand every single f ****. Questions from TTR and EXAM. (Less memory work)
CF: work hard on your calculation. I realised if u memorize everything and throw it out, it is only going to get u a near pass grade.

I taking ME and MSM next sem.

Thanks for your advice everyone. However, can i know if i'm able to withdraw from SIM and register for the UOL exams via RELC? Cannot afford pay course fees, and SIM don't let us Self-study.

1) Let say if this is possible, will i be able to apply for new modules or covert to another degree?

I got a story to tell, I flunk 2 out of 4 foundation subjects for my first year of UOL in SIM. That was when I studied full-time.

In a fit of rage, changed the course to something totally different - now part-time. Since then I self-finance my studies with abit of "bursary" help.

Wasn't easy though, took additional 5 years instead of additional 4 year.

Why 4 additional years instead of 3? Because I am a greedy person -I want to end with good honours, I also want to enjoy studying and work at the same time.

Then why 5 additional years? Cos I am an idiot|incredibly slow person and therefore missed the deadline for final year project work and research paper (my course is Information Systems and Management).

This year I should graduate (ahhh 6 years in total). Initially, I was with SIM during the time when they provide refreshments for classes, and this year I enjoy the new environment under the new wing of study rooms.

BTW, I self-studied for 3 whole subjects (not because I flunked them), did a subject which SIM did not provide (cannot tell you ), crashes in many many many classes because they didn't fit my work/lifestyle schedule.

Disappointed at my results EVERYTIME, but still end up with a at the end of the year. Stay positive

I have quite a number of classmates from SIM. Maybe the smaller class size at SAA could help.

Also heard that the UOL lecturers doing the revisions cannot set the exam papers at the same time liao. so no more tips and now everybody fair liao.

Change to Biz for an (slightly) easier time...or persist on on prove yourself and people wrong....
