I am currently using fractal design arc midi r2 and it comes with 3 fractal silent series r2 140mm fans. I find the fans are not very effective at moving air and at high settings, a bit noisy.

I am looking around for other 140mm case fans to upgrade to while maintaining the black/white colour scheme of my case.

I am considering the aerocool shark 140mm white fans. Will it be considered an upgrade from my r2 fans? Otherwise what other 140mm fans are good? Corsair ap/so 140mm fans?

Do note that my intake fans are pulling air in through a dust filter while exhaust fans are pushing air out through the top dust filter. So should I go for high air flow or high static pressure?

1. Actually I thought that Fractal's fans not bad one. Or you just Gian to change fan?

2. Dont know about aerocool hmm as for corsair, the sp series seems to run a little loud at max whereas the AF has lower max rpms, is less aggressive.

3. Which cooler you using?
I would make my fans all intake save the rear fan mount for exhaust. Can prevent dust build up since intakes all filtered. Either will do. Static pressure optimised only, if you using the fans for rads.

If you're concerned about noise, change the case to fractal define R series.

As for fans, anything running>1200rpm will be audible, especially with the dust filters.

Perhaps you can remove the filter from the exhaust at the top and reduce the fan speed.

The fan has some sound when I set it to 12v (on the control switch on the case - 5v, 7v and 12v)

Currently all stock cooler, but my fans are 1 intake, 2 exhaust. I should heed your advice n make it 2 intake 1 exhaust. Noticed some dust build up inside also. But where should I position the intake fan? My HDD cage is blocking the front intake fan. Will there be any problem?

I compare my r2 fans to the cooler master ones I see at pc show. The cooler master ones quite powerful at moving air. From a distance can feel the air. My r2 fans I put my hand at the rear exhaust I can barely feel anything.

Also intersted in this. I have an arc mini r2 and im not satisfied with the stock fans due to the filters giving alot of resistance and the metal grille at the back also giving even more.

Intending to buy some static pressure fans (2 for intake ie one bottom and one front, and 2 for exhaust).

Leaning towards gentle typhoons for the 120m intakes, and dont know what for a good 140mm static pressure fan

i have multiple fractal design cases.
the stock fans are not the best but at 7V they are silent and the air flow isnt that bad..

in all honesty, whats the use case that requires the change in the fans to improve the airflow? even a better fans (GT with voltage mod etc) will only earn u maybe 2-3 degree at best for the same sound level. no worth the cost
