Hello HWZ,

Can I ask for advice on upgrade?

My current rig is indicted on the right.

I was thinking to buy Ryzen 3600 as I play on 165hz 1440p as that would be better (correct me if I'm wrong). Also, it's better for future proofing.

The question is I don't know what motherboard to pair it with? Is it better to pair it with a B450 or X470?

And, for motherboard is better to buy locally while CPU and RAM can get from amazon or Newegg?

For rams, I just choose one with 3200 yes?

My budget is not too much, so I was hoping to get the most value combination.

Thanks in advance guys!

if you can wait until november, the black friday price on newegg and amazon were insane.

3600 with B450 Tomahawk Max, so you don't need to flash the bios. Check the B450 Max thread which was on the front page

Ah, that's a good idea. Will newly released products have sale too?

Saw it, it's gonna get released soon right?

So I assume motherboard get locally because of warranty, then BF I get CPU and RAM?

If you are not in a rush and can wait till BF(end Nov) , then just monitor the major sites for offers (lazada, amazon, newegg, etc). For the latter two, I browse this subreddit from time to time

Yes. most cpu were on amazon were 50% off compared to if you bought when it came out a few months earlier.

For ram DDR4 better buy now and keep. price might rise. i recently bought 8GB for $40

I see, I might grab a pair of the cheapest RGB rams then while waiting for BF The CAS doesn't make much of a difference correct?
