Anyone kNows difference between asrock ab350m and ab350m pro 4? They look the same but $30 difference. Also the difference between 2400 and 3200 ddr4 very great?

If you are getting ryzen, just get any ram that is 2933mhz and above. Can get klevv or t force ram which is cheaper. The ram compatibility is fixed for most ram in the new ryzen +

If going Intel, doesn't matter which ram you take.

I am using gskill, maybe I stick with it. But there are so maNy types. Sniper, etc. What is the low end one that comes in 3200mhz?

I need to upgrade my computer not because it's slow but because I want more USB3 and high speed SATA ports. I play games like alpha protocol, nights of azure, deus ex, senran kagura, the new wolfenstein etc and I think the speed is fine, poto editing speed is a bit slow when I edit 4000x6000 photos but still bearable. But I really need the ports because I have 4x external 8tb drives and a lot of SSDs and now I use a usb 3 hub to connect and all the bandwidth is shared on one usb channel.

My current setup

Core i3 3220 3.3ghz
Gigabyte B75M-HD3 (only 2 USB 3 ports and 1 high speed SATA, +4 USB2 ports and 5 low speed SATA)
8gb DDR3 ram
PSU seasonic 350w I think
AMD Radeon R7 200
500gb Samsung SSD (I have another 500gb SSD somewhere I can reuse)
4 8TB drives in a DAS


Are there any better setups I can get for around $1000? For poto editing mostly, but if I play games it will be similar to this.
I want to reuse as much as I can.. possible?

if u are going for ryzen 2200, might as upgrade your current setup to i7 2600 and tong another 2 yrs. Memory also up to 16Gb...

Total cost i7 2600 = ard 120
Memory for another 8gb = 60

actually if u just need more USB ports, why not just buy a PCI-e USB card or PCI-e Sata Card?

Yalar, the thing is I just need more USB 3 ports, the speed I feel even my current setup is fine already, so I thought might as well upgrade whole system instead of just buying PCI usb3 card

The Pro4 is better. Having a slightly better VRM (iirc) and more heatsink to dissipate the heat . I would get the pro4.

RAM speed play a part in the CPU performance for Ryzen, especially multi cores and threads application. It's architecture uses RAM a lot. Hence, faster RAM impact performance more notably than Intel.

well ur 1k budget is too small to make alot different... a gtx 1080 ti, budget out of the window already

then upgrade your gpu. not your motherboard and processor. there is no real difference. Aiya, hand itchy say itchy rah...

My hand also very itchy, buy things that I dont need. Now standby to hoot gtx 1180ti when it comes out!!

Yes. The max output is still limited by your main connector output.

Since u need more port and high speed. Get a TB PCIE on x16 slot and change all your ext drive with TB Daisy chain and u can get max output from your HDD.

i decided to go for x370 because it looks like it has more usb3 lanes than b350. But what are the cheap and good x370 boards? I won't overclock, and probly get a ryzen 2400 or 2600 for it.

Just find the cheapest board with most usb3 ports and compare.

Now r7 1700 got sale.. clear stock.. should hoot this instead. Buy more usb 3.0 pcie cards.

It depends on your usage, but getting a high end cpu doesnt mean you have access to more UBS ports. Still depends on the mobo u used.

If ur usage and budget is low, just get a 2200g with cheapest X370. Try to compare between a few models within budget range to see which suits u best, along with B350 as reference.
