I've been thinking which one is better.

Currently have a 2700x (X470) with a Gigabyte 1080. Not sure if upgrade to 3700x (~$480) or RTX 2070 Super (~$680) is better.

I only play Destiny 2, so I have not been able to find proper up to date benchmarks.

*also have a BNIB ASUS Strix Vega 64

Any suggestions?

A CPU will only work with certain motherboards. This can make upgrading tricky as a given motherboard will be compatible with a range of different processors. The key indicator is the CPU socket your current processor uses. That will guide you as to what processors you can then drop into your existing motherboard.

You're not gonna get much improvement.

Plus, what is your monitor

GPU if you really want to upgrade, but like others has said it... you don't need to upgrade

AAA titles always upgrade GPU if you already have 8 core processor.

Using 1440p, so I guess this makes most sense
The upgrade to RTX2070 Super isn't super significant though

GTX1080 is still a solid card by modern standards for 1440p gaming
