Upgrade for Gaming PC

Hi guys,

Need your comments on this. I would like to upgrade my PC for gaming.
These are the parts that I have shortlisted.

1. Asus Maximus VI Impact Mini ITX
2. Intel LGA1150 4670
3. G-Skill RipJawX 2133MHz CL10 - 16GB
4. Asus GTX770 2GB DC II OC DDR5

Is this setup ok? Comments please, thank you!

Not overclocking should not get such high end mobo, if overclocking should get K processor.

Depending on your needs, I think you probably should channel your rams to gfx.

You pair the wrong mobo with thr processor. You should be getting a b85 itx. Drop the 2133mhz ram. Its not gonna bring you any huge performance difference. Take that money pump into a better gpu and probably can invest on a 1440p monitor.

Asus 770 more ex than normal r9 280x in which it is same performance as 770.

Dun need 2133mhz rams. Just get normal g.skill rams will do, since your CM 130 do not have a window, no need get so fancy rams. Basic value rams will do.

If you are gonna OC, den get i5-4670k. If not, get i5-4570 and B85I/H87I mobo.

As for 1440p monitors, if you are comfortable with ordering online, consider the qnix qx2710 evo II from qoo10. At $299 or so. Cheapest 1440p you can get yet with decent quality. But if you are gonna play games on that, u need at least r9 290.

u may want to get 4670K instead since you're pairing with a z87 mobo.
for GPU GTX 770 shud be fine since its ITX build there is restricted airflow, r9 280x may run too hot and loud, overheat (95 degrees),thermal throttling and early death etc... RAM can get any well-known brands bah.. if windowed case then can get some fancy looking one's from corsair.

280x isnt like 290/290x... It doesnt get as hot as 280x...

I don't think I will be overclocking the CPU. I think I prefer Nvidia cards.

If its 1080p, 280x is good enough le... Since u prefer nvida, try getting the zotac 770. Check its length vs how much length can your CM 130 take.

Not gonna OC, get i5-4570 + h87i mobo. Reason for h87i is that not much B85i in market, so next choice would be H87i.

16gb for gaming is a lot. 8gb is more than enough.

Hmm, now, I am thinking of the same thing too.

Current as follows:
Processor: Intel i5 2400 3.1GHz/6MB LGA1155
Mainboard: Zotac H67 ITX-A-E
Graphics Card: EVGA GTX 570 HD Superclocked
Memory: Corsair 4GB DDR3 1333MHz Value RAM x 2

I already have 8GB RAM, if I were to get a GTX 780 card, it should work fine?

Ur rams are still fine...

If you are using a 1080p monitor, r9 280x is more than good enough. 780 is overkill and will give tearing if FPS is over 60.

Overheat is one thing, diverting the heat out is another. All high end gpu will heat up when u play high end games. But it depends on the layout of your rig to see how you push the heat out.

It does help, but still need a fan to push to warm air out.
