Upgrade Motherboard Before Upgrading RAM?

Source for DDR3 ram, there are few kits on Caurosell.
However even for second hand ram prices have gone up.

Yep I saw this which is why I would not do the ram upgrade if it was me in that situation but go for a complete refresh.

Your upgrade path of adding 8GB/16GB is still reasonable and economical given the empty RAM slots available.

In my position (4790 + H81 ITX), the only upgrade path I have is to swap the existing 2x 8GB for 2x 16GB, of which the latter is super expensive and scarce.
