Upgrade my 2016 PC?

Hi all, I last built my PC in 2016. Lately it is feeling like it struggles when I try to open more tabs/ documents and will 'freeze' for 5-10 secs then recover and continue. I'm not sure if it is the CPU struggling to keep up...

Looking for the most bang for buck upgrade since my use case is pretty simple. Even when I use abit of premiere pro, my current specs can take it. So, budget $1k - $1.2k, can go up more if that is where the best value is (excluding monitor and graphics card).

fits nicely in ur budget even without reusing parts, so u can splurge on better quality parts if u want too. 8% gst is basically here, mai tu liao.

I'm more familiar with Intel since last look was intel.
is there any value in going up a tier for the CPU? Also can recommendation for an MSI mainboard? In my current experience, MSI is most durable.

If I reuse my PSU and have more budget for better 32GB RAM and/or SSD, would it make a difference?

how simple is ur use case? if just plain web browsing then upgrading cpu likely u wont feel any difference, though with premiere pro there can be an uplift. the 5600 is definitely miles ahead of ur current 6100 either way. for ryzen, u can opt for the msi b550m pro-vdh wifi or bazooka if u can find them in stock; the pro4 is reportedly oos anyway.

Thinking of trying to learn premiere pro.

Anyway with the current uncertainties with the 8% GST, decided to hold off on the upgrade.
Perhaps relook this when PCIE 5 SSDs launch and DDR5 becomes more available.

If you are planning to use Premiere Pro, then a Nvidia GTX/RTX is a must have for Mercury Playback engine. It helps in real time rendering and export.
