Upgrade my present system...

Dear all

I have a 3 year old system which was configured by a fellow friend here in the hwz. Right now, I use it for playing dota 2 and diablo 3. There are no problems playing this 2 games, but I wish to make my system handle other programs better, such as Photoshop.

Presently when I run them, the computer seem to go pretty slow...

Hope to hear from the gurus here what I should upgrade so that maybe I can run my photoshop, and run my game in the background.

Things to upgrade:
1. Gaming experience(better graphics)
2. Other programs experience(smoother and less waiting time while running photoshop)

I highly doubt Haswell has much to offer over your Sandy Bridge.

You should just buy a SSD drive.

Otherwise, reformat and reinstall Windows with less junk installed.

Like what Maeda has said, throw in a SSD, your desktop should feel more responsive again. I will recommend getting crucial M500 240gb from Amazon. It will costs about SGD150 which saves you about $60-$80 from SG retail stores.

Hi guys, thanks for the response. I have a SSD installed(Crucial M4 CT064M4SSD2) 64gb only.. should I go for the 240gb recommendation from nippp0n instead?

Using NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560 at the moment.

Yes a bigger SSD.

And probably a new gpu. How old is your PSU and what is the wattage?

Lastly your budget for GPU/PSU and a SSD?

Budget around 200-250? 150 for the SDD which was recommended by nippp0n
