upgrade or swap out?

games that i am going for are
Forza Horizon
Diablo 3-4
NFS
Dragon ball games
now due to my current set up..
currently at i5 3470
i can go up to i7 3770
i can go for GTX 1660
i can go for RX 6600
or i can go all upgrade all the way to intel gen 12 or amd am4

what would u guys think?

3770 very cpu limited now a days and you cannot buy new one already

time to move all the way to latest gen12/13 or AM4/5 cpu ..

there will be a time when u wanna play your games at 1440 onwards even on 60Ghz or more then u will need better GPU for the power hungry titles...
FH5 is 1 of them when you run ultra settings
new NFS incoming and D4 wont be as weak too, it all boils down to your budget and what resolution u want to run your games at ?

To be honest, with your current specs, getting even last gen CPUs from Intel or AMD will give you a steep performance boost. If you have a tight budget, getting either a Ryzen 5 5600X or i5 12400F rig should be fairly affordable. At this point, I won't recommend upgrading to an i7 3770 because while the CPU may seem cheap, the extra 4 threads is not going to make a meaningful improvement to performance. Furthermore, you do not know how long will the rest of the components in your computer last. So while you can buy the i7 3770 cheap, resale is going to be tough.

Depend on your budget, I still have a old Intel i7 2600k pair with GTX560Ti running Windows 7.
Still runs fine for older games, new games will be on my other PC Intel i7 9700k with GTX1060 6GB Win 10.

The key for such old PC is to pair the CPU with a decent but not too strong GPU like latest
RTX graphic card. At the most either i5 3470 with GTX760/GTX960 so not sure what is your current graphic card.

Upgrading from i5 3470 to i7 3770 for gaming it won't make a big difference since some games
won't benefit from hyperthreading. AMD or Intel depends how much you want to spend as well as are you intending any parts from the old PC?

Rather a complete overhaul but reuse the RX570 since it isn't tap on it's potential.
If you don't wish a overhaul the PSU recommend to change to a new one.

Not sure if it will help waiting for Black Friday sale. Processor wise if you buy from the likes of Amazon, they should come with international warranty.

When Windows cease support doesn't mean cannot use.
It means the Windows update will stop as well as Microsoft by than will release
the last Win build version.

This PC is unbalanced modern graphic with Intel 7 4790k.
Upgrading the CPU and faster RAM will definitely tap on the RTX 3060 capability.
Not to mention this generation doesn't support resizable Bar feature unlike Intel 8th generation onwards.

If you upgrade CPU, motherboard and RAM the rest can reuse.
Take note Windows have to be reinstalled from fresh, I know some after change motherboard
just plug it in.

It can work but down the road whether will it be stable is another question.

Yes Seasonic s12ii isn't very good, not recommend for new PC builds.

Super flower, FSP I won't recommend unless for budget builds.
Seasonic S12 III despite I have one but some will advice against buying it.

seasonic is a good brand, is just that any brand can have poor budget models. their good power supplies include their focus and prime series, but focus is good enough for most. corsair is one alternative with quite a few good series like the rm and hx. super flower is also a decent pick with some very good quality models and they used to be the oem for evga, though u have to contend with a shorter warranty period. this is the list that i usually refer to when giving psu recos, maybe u can have a look too:

yes all can, though last time I bought the seasonic focus it was 140, maybe can look around abit for better prices. u can also consider super flower legion gx pro 650w for 105, if it is still in stock.
