Both X570 and B550 will do the next gen Ryzen. If you can live with gen 3 and possibly upgrade to gen 4 in the next 3-5 years as you put it then you will be good to go.
PC stuff can’t be future proof for a very long time if you want to stay “current”. The question you need to ask yourself before upgrading is - does my PC serve my current requirements? If yes then why worry about upgrading? My relatives are running 5 year old intel i5-6600 with no issues and the only upgrades I’m about to do is add more ram and NVMe SSD to it. Parts should arrive by the 3-July.
