Need some insights/tips from the bros here...

Currently i'm looking to upgrade my rig but looking to downsize to Mini-ITX.

Current Rig:

Casing: Fractal Define R5 Window
PSU: Super Flower LEADEX Gold 750W
Motherboard: MSI Z97 Gaming 5
CPU (Processor): Intel i5-4690k
RAM (Memory): 32GB DDR3
GPU (Graphic Card): Gigabyte G1 Gaming GTX970
CPU Cooler: H100i Corsair
Storage: Samsung M.2 860 EVO 1TB

Mini-ITX:
Casing: NZXT H210 Black
PSU: if possible reuse
Motherboard: ?
CPU (Processor): Ryzen 7 3700x
RAM (Memory): 32GB DDR4
GPU: if possible reuse or upgrade
CPU Cooler: if possible reuse
Storage: reuse (buying 5 bay enclosure for my existing 3.5" HDD)

Been out of touch with the computer rigs nowadays, upgrade as in if possible i would like to see faster processing @ value from my current rig.
Budget wise around 2k-3k i don't mind spending more but obviously the lesser the better lol.

Gaming not much anymore, mostly open multiple emulator (LDplayer and such to do my mobile game grinding), Dota 2, VMware but if can upgrade GPU as well i don't mind.

I think current PSU and my CPU cooler can be reuse in the H210 case.
So if anyone have any suggestions or want me to to change overall i don't mind hearing your opinion.

For motherboard, make sure to get one with USB 3.2 gen 2 header if you want the front USB C port to function. The ROG Strix B550-I is a good choice as it has both USB 3.2 gen 1&2 header for your front ports. The only X570 board with this header is the ROG Crosshair VIII Impact. This is a mini-DTX board but it will fit this case.

For GPU upgrade, you are limited to dual fan cards if you're reusing the cooler. Wait for the Ampere cards if you're not rushing.

PSU can be reuse and 3600mhz CL16 is a good price to performance balance.

Thats correct, the ROG Crosshair VIII Impact is the only Mini-DTX board (bigger than a mini-ITX) with a USB-C front header out there. This board should fit into the casing you are looking at. I wanted to build a Mini-ITX system into a NZXT H1 but the lack of the USB-C header stopped me.

Hope to see a high end B550 with it and wait for reviews and I'll revisit the mini-ITX project in a few months!

Any reason why you are looking to down size it to ITX? Few reasons why I asked this question,

1. ITX runs hotter - So you need to ask yourself if you are find with the components running hotter than what you generally see in an ATX or MATX setup
2. ITX is small, but not that small when you need to find one that fits a big graphic card. I made the decision to go ITX, but moved back to MATX and then to ATX. Reason is because I find most ITX case too big for the desk and too small to put on the floor. So I recommend do consider how much space you can spare on your desk before deciding that ITX is the way to go after looking out of some suitable casing

3. ITX stuff are generally more expensive, i.e. casing, motherboard, etc.

FYI .. NZXT H210 Black is huge! Airflow is so so only. Size of H210 similar to matx chassis. :o

Its just slightly smaller then its atx sibling.
How about Lian Li Tu150?! Air flow is so so but it does the job. . Even a cougar qbx (shoppee has stock from Msia) is better case then the h210i.

AIO is not advisable to reuse as the pump might uplorry anytime plus need an AM4 bracket for it. Your AM4 bracket cost alone can get a hsf. If on a budget, Ryzen 7 3700x comes with hsf. Just use that.

Just sell your psu and get a new one smaller one.Seasonic SFX PSU 600W Modular is on sale at 140, lazada now. HDD get an 8tb and consolidate all your 5xHDD. Get a m.2 256Gb as boot drive. New ITX/MATX board normally comes with 4 sata and 1or 2 m.2 slot depending on model.

Anyway its upto u, just my opinion.

Yes but all mini-ITX motherboards available today do not have the header for it to plug into so its just a dummy with whats available right now.

All AMD boards you mean. Intel ITX boards do have USB C header. :s13:

A sense of how a itx case size should look like.

Nouvolo Steck (11.2L), next to Cougar QBX(19.8L)... Size doesn't seem to be commensurate with volume drop?

Thanks for this, in the end still went for H210 as it was just nice to place at the holder on the side of the table that my current rig is at. Additionally if possible didn't want to spend for new PSU.

Didn't realize it would be hotter but since it'll be under AIO cooler hopefully it wouldn't affect much.

Desk is only with monitor, hubs, keyboard and mouse. It'll be on desk internal side holder with the ITX size easy access to casing's front IO compare to current mATX casing which is blocked.

Did a quick check, my rig is since 2015 so trying something new is fun lol

Thanks for the info, i went on the hunt for 3600mhz CL16 ram :s13:

Yup that's what I mean. I know that the Intel boards do have USB-C header toying with the idea of an Intel ITX so I can directly bench it against my Ryzen 9 :s8:
