I think I’ve to go to an Apple store to look what what XS really has to offer

Still using 7 plus and the youtubers keep saying don’t upgrade

e new HDR camera is enough reason to upgrade.

OLED, faster CPU & GPU, next gen FaceID, durable material in Stainless Steel, almost bezeless design, wireless charging, state of the art dual camera setup.

Warning, once you try the XS in the store, going back to your 7+ will be a challenge. Haha. But joking aside, of course it’s a worthy upgrade. The only concern you might have is the battery life. If you want decent battery life to match your 7+, get the XS Max.

Don’t let the XR’s reputation as the ‘weaker” sibling fool anyone. I foresee XR to be a sleeper device. If taking price as a factor, XR could be on par with XS. On spec sheet it might seem inferior but if you take price into consideration, the XR is a very solid device.

I came from a 7 Plus, then X and now XS Max (I'm still using the X and 7 Plus as a spare). If you came from a Plus phone and going to the XS, the physical size is smaller but slightly larger screen. The XS is a much better phone if you appreciate gestures and a more 'hand-holdable' size and form factor.

Don't listen to what others say as you're the one using the phone and most importantly is that you enjoy using it.

XS gang will say XS is good.
XR gang will say XR is good.

The debate will never end. XR is better in battery and wide angle portrait. Everything else, XS is better.

Your 7S plus is still quite a capable phone. if you really need to change, go to apple orchard, try the phone yourself and judge for yourself.

I have both the XR and XS and had the X and 7+ before that.

XR is pretty good as compared to XS Max. XS Max is marginally better but it’s also more expensive. XR colours are actually much nicer than the XS, so it has an advantage there. You can also argue it’s at a sweet spot between XS and XS Max from a size perspective.

If you don’t care about spending money, then just go with XS or XS Max depending on the size you prefer. Otherwise, XR is a great buy, and a great upgrade from your 7+.

The main deciding factor is the screen n cost. You have to test yourself. See which screen you will like.
