Hi all, I'm thinking of upgrading my graphic card and PSU.

My current PC (3yrs old):
Intel i5 2500K
Gigabyte p67a-ud3 b3
MSI gtx 560 twin frozr
8GB RAM
Seasonic M12-620W
Lian li lancool K62

I'm considering these items:

GPU:
MSI N750 TF 1GD5/OC S$207 or MSI N750Ti TF 2GD5/OC S$263

Seasonic M12II-750 S$131 or Seasonic G-750 S$169

(prices from mynextcomonline.com)

Would like some opinions, thanks :o

What games u playing and what is your monitor resolution? Lastly, ur budget?

With that said, you can consider superflower hx500/600w. U no need 750w for 750Ti. Its a low power consumption gpu.

Monitor resolution is 1360 x 768
Budget is $400 for graphic card and PSU.

I usually play Rome 2 Total War, BF4 and Hitman: absolution.

:o

Is superflower better in term of quality against seasonic?
If I get superflower hx500/600w, will it be consider a downgrade from 620w?

BF4 and hitman are high end games as compared to Rome 2... U would need a better gpu. With that said, your resolution is quite low. At most, a 760 is more than enough for that resolution. Can consider 760 AMP!.

Superflower is comparable to seasonic. They do OEM for other brands. A 600w is more than enough for your needs. You cna actually continue using ur psu for a few more yrs before considering to change it.

Can consider Zotac 760 AMP!. Slightly OC-ed 760 at a slight lower price. Wraanty is 2+3 yrs. 1st 2 yrs 1-to-1 exchange and last 3 yrs is dependant on stock.

Hmmm, never heard of this brand before :o

But adding this:
Zotac Geforce GTX760 AMP Edition S$348
LG 19.5" 20EN33SS S$141
Total: S$489

I need to top up $89, will consider about this :o

That MSI card doesn't have the 6pin connector, some say this design will consume lesser power?

I believe you were refering to the 750/750Ti? Coz anything above 760 needs power connector.

It would be good to get a better monitor, like the Dell S2340L, 1080p at $179, Safra promo. Much better than the LG 19.5", which is just 1600 x 900. Not much diff frm what you are using. Promo ends today, i think.

Topping up extra $127 is quite worth it.

Okok.

Can the S2240L be a good substitute instead?
My table area is limited due to my PC being on it, putting it on the floor is not an option for me.
Are Asus and Philips comparable to dell? Might check their monitors out as well. :o

Still can, but that model isnt sold in Dell website liao.. Need head down to shops to get...

According to previous IT show pricelist,

Dell%20Monitors%20S2340L%2C%20U2414H%2C%20U2412M%2C%20U2413%2C%20U2713HM%2C%20U2713H%2C%20U2913WM%2C%20U3014%2C%20P2815Q%2C%20UP2414Q%2C%20UP3214Q.jpg

The S2340L was only $10 from the S2240L. Makes it more worth to get the 23". ASUS de usually more ex, not sure on Philips quality. But you to wait till the next IT show bah, and high chance u wun get it at $179.

Wah, thanks for the info.
Just checked the pricing, online price for S2340L is $28 from S2240L (S$207).
Going to check other online shops for their pricing.

Thanks for the advice and recommendations :o

Not many shops will stock the 21.5", S2240L, as the 23" model is more popular... Macham like the norm or minimum standard bah. But, it makes more economical sense to get the 23" at that price.

Anyway, i believed you checked via MNC? Do check with the pricelist from other shops as well. Got chance to bargain for lower price, though not as much as the Safra promo. On average, $5-10 off?
