Upgrading Graphics Driver - Damn Annoying!!!

It is so frustrating to update and install the latest Nvidia graphics card drivers. When you try to do a fresh install, each time after you uninstalled the previous old driver and am asked to reboot, Win10 will automatically install the "latest" driver which it can find (which is NOT the latest you are trying to install) immediately upon reboot. I googled for a solution and changed Win10 system settings NOT to automatically install device drivers but it still does. My only choice was to install the new driver w/o uninstalling the previous one because I can never beat Win10 in installing its choice of driver upon reboot.

The stupid Geforce Experience is basically useless it keeps hanging halfway while downloading drivers...

Even Win7 have its fair share of problems, like automatically removing many of my game shortcuts on the desktop because it detected that the shortcuts have a broken link. Broken link my ass it works just fine!

nvidia spend so much money in their software department so that the current driver will delate those older files and replace with new ones.

I think it's just user problem la. Go disable those automatic updates and u should be fine. Or go back to Windows 7 or 8.1 if you are not proficient enough for 10.

Don't use Geforce experience bloatware unless you need shadowplay. Manage your updates manually from Nvidia's driver site.

Pretty sure you checked some option in Windows 10 that allowed Windows update to manage your drivers. My first experience with the auto update was that it downloaded a Lenovo H110 bios and auto flashed for a B150M MSI diy rig. Board bricked.

Only allow Windows to download OS updates.

I am installing it manually. And I have already disabled automatic updates. It's a known issue which other users faced, not only me. Proficient enough for Win10? Gosh do you use Win10 to play with Control Panel and Paint? Or to play games or do your work? Its just a platform.

Thanks yes will install this, used to use DriverCleaner Pro but seems like no longer available, not for Win10 at least.

DDU is quite light and recommended by Geforce Forum mods. Its clean, but some AV like kaspersky may pick it up as a false positive.

Thanks bro. I may just reinstall Geforce Experience again and let it worry about driver updates, see if it works this time. I'm very sure a graphics driver update programme from Nvidia themself ought to do things right w/o Win10 interfering.... I hope lol!

Is to just disconnect from internet.

That is what I do for new PC than when all driver are loaded than
I connect back the internet.
Do also take that if the Win 10 that you installed if it was
way back during the early build one.

You may want to do a clean install of Win 10 using the latest build
which you can download from MS website.
Earlier build version have this issue of auto update, only the
latest build does not have such issue when you turned off the auto
driver update.

I have a new PC loaded with the latest build, it did not
auto update like the earlier build of Win 10.
Win 10 is indeed annoying by far of any MS windows.

Gosh bro you just hit the nail right on the head! Why didn't I think of it - simply disconnecting from the internet! The early Windows 10 build problem is probably what's causing all this. Thanks a heap!
