just gotten my EVGA GTX760 SC (SGD 359) and Samsung 840 (SGD220)from Amazon. Am considering whether to overhaul the rest of the rig

My current rig

1)CPU:E8400
2)MB:Gigabyte DS3R
3)Ram: 4GB Cosair
4)PSU: AeroCool 650W -in use for almost 5 years liao

Monitor :22" 1680X1050 (will remain)
HDD :WD Black 1TB X2 ,raid 0 (will remain)

Should I overhaul my CPU ,MB ,RAM and PSU? I am playing Crysis 3 and Tombraider now.(on low low settings..LOL)

If yes ,please recommend me a build for items 1-4 for $1000
Thanks.

Definitely no SLI.

Overclocking...maybe..can recommend CPU cooler as well?

Low noise is also a criteria. PSU /coolers got to be as quiet as possible.

PSU should be fine.

Intel Core i5 4670K + MSI Z87-G43 - $489
Corsair Vengeance 1600MHz CL9 4GBx2 - $95
CM Hyper 212 Evo CPU Cooler - $59

From PC Themes pricelist.

Here goes my amateurish recommendations. :D

Mobo+CPU: MSI Z87-G45 Gaming + i5-4670k (3.4GHz) - $545
DDR3: G-Skill RipJawX 1600MHz CL9 (4GBx2) - $95
PSU: Seasonic X Series 650W (Modular) - $158
CPU Cooler: Corsair H100i Hydro Cooling Performance - $185

Total: $983 from Fuwell. (Unable to download other pricelists from HWZ.. Dunno why)

You can always go PC themes and ask for quote then bargain it down..

Alternatively, you can change your PSU to Seasonic M12II-620W 80+ ($125) if you don't mind non-modular PSU..

*Note: Not sure if your casing can support Corsair H100i. Check the dimensions first before u purchase. :p

If mild over-clocking, can use CM 212 series of fan cpu coolers also.

Actually, a H60i @ S$109 is more than enough for him.

I had in mind to buy Fractal R4 ,Black windowless...for quiet rig.

my current rig is so loud...the hum noise is unbearable...any suggestions for the new rig to quiet down?

read the review that 80i is pretty noisy at max speed...are you using it? How is it?

Mild over-clock only, you don't really have to worry about the noise..

Read somewhere that they already updated that issue with a patch..

H80i is just a want.. Lol.. CPU fan cooler might be cheaper for u..

Am using CM 212X atm just for fun (no over-clocking done).. Quite silent..

Price-to-Performance ratio, CM 212 Evo will be better compare to CM 212X..
