upgrading old rig

currently thinking to upgrade my current rig as want to play PUBG on higher setting and smoother game play ..and recently feel that my com getting slower
this is my current set up. would like to reuse back as many parts as possible . thanks!!

mobo : asus h97-pro gamer
ram : kingston ddr3 8gb
ssd : samsung 850 evo 250gb
hdd : toshiba 1TB
graphic card : palit gtx 960 jetstream
psu : seasonic 520w
casing : cooler master k380
monitor :samsung s24D300hs

From the look of the parts, If you wish to play PUBG smoothly, you'll need to go and kick the developer's ass to fix the optimization issue ASAP

Other than that,

A faster CPU with higher clocks e.g i5-8600K O.Ced 4.8-5.0 GHz, Fast RAM, at least 16GB (3200 Mhz+).. Also a powerful GPU, at least GTX 1060 6GB for 1080p, GTX 1080 for 1440p.

AMD CPUs are very bad at running Unreal Engine 4 games as the game engine isn't optimized for AMD yet (Need to go kick UE4 developer's ass also)

What is your budget?

Actually processor is still ok. Just change gpu to gtx 1060 will probably yield 60-ish fps.

if im you, i'll upgrade memory to 16gb and graphics to at least a 1060 6gb model

this should allow pubg to be played on a mix of med-high or high settings bah

i think my mobo can only support 1150 chipset. i think i might upgrade my ram . anw what do you think of my rig?

Nope. Save the money for future rig. For now, 16gb ram and a gtx 1060 6gb will last you a long way as long you other components last.

As mentioned, pubg is a badly optimized game which need very powerful hardware for mediocre result. So you are good with the suggested upgrades above.

Run pubg at medium high settings with low foliage so you can spot enemy and maintain higher frames at the same time.

All you need to do is to change your Graphic card

From a GTX960 to GTX1060 6gb
If you hand itchy can upgrade ram to 16gb but not necessary

Your system is still good to go

FYI
I've used an i5-3570 / 4460 / 4670
Inserted a GTX1060 and it flies
Inserted a GTX1070TI and it flew higher
Inserted a GTX1080 TI AMP, it was in PUBG Heaven playing 4K @60fps constant never dipping below 60fps

hope pubg devs can optimize the game in the next couple of updates

i initially tried ultra with my r9 nano + i5-6500 (using a 1440p 144hz display) and was wondering if my 2yr old rig so fast turned obsolete already
