Hi guys, 7yrs old monitor finally died and I'll be getting an Acer Predator X34 to replace it. Looking to upgrade my mobo/CPU/Gfx card as well and I'm thinking of getting the below:

Intel i5 8500 3.0 Ghz
Asus ROG Strix Z370-I Gaming

For the Gfx card, I'm undecided between a GTX 1080 or 1080 Ti. Rig will be used mainly for work, gaming and watching videos. Budget preferably below 2k if possible.

What would you guys recommend? Thanks!

TS' budget of $2k is only the mobo/cpu/GPU:s11:

I assume RAM is reusing back the current DDR4 that he already has?
It's a tight budget, looking at the PC Themes pricelist... assuming if choosing 1080ti.

Ah didn't realize there's a newer model for the X34, will check it out!

Not familiar with the latest trends in CPU/mobo, picked the ROG Strix at random. What would be the best value-for-money CPU/mobo combo for my requirements?

Yup reusing RAM/SSD/HDD and yes $2k is the budget for the CPU/mobo/GPU. I know its not alot, that's why not sure whether to go for 1080 or 1080ti. Remainder of budget will be going to the X34 lol

Shouldn't it be the other way? Since u dun have a working monitor?

But I still think it's best u consider which monitor u going to get den decide on the hardware they support it.
