Hey guys, planning to upgrade my ssd to a new one. I know that a cloning software should do most of the tricks for migration of files. But just want to confirm that do I need both ssd connected, and once transferred, I can just boot up from the new ssd (with the old one disconnected)?

Recommend fresh install. The reason is that junk stuff usually accumulate over time..... So its better to just install a new copy of windows and transfer what you need to the new drive.

Cloning is the fastest way of migrating.

As long as you did it right, you can boot with any of the SSDs because both are identical and bootable.

Just correctly choose/set in the BIOS which SSD you want to boot up the system .
