Hi all,

just a few hours back my 4 year old pc started to have bootup issues.
The colour of my monitor started to get all blurry and once I got past the "starting windows" screen, it loads to a black screen and it stuck there forever.

Any idea whats going on or what is wrong?

Did i recommend that 4 years back? :s13:

Try starting your PC with Enable VGA Mode in Advanced Startup Option (Spam F8 after BIOS splash screen when booting up)

In that case can you try removing your GPU and test your system using your IGP (after connecting monitor to motherboard graphics port)?

I'm not sure how to remove it.... and I don't to accidentally damage any components... But I'm guessing its the graphic card issue

Never mind don't remove then but try switching primary graphics in BIOS to Integrated Graphics and connect your monitor cable to port on motherboard panel. Yeah primary suspect is your HD 7870...

Thanks! I'm able to load into windows now... Seems like my HD 7870 is dying already... Any recommended GPU? I play games such as CSGO, Dota 2, battlefield 4 etc. Budget wise, I would something more affordable for an 18 year old. Thanks again!
Go and find your shop invoice for the graphics card. Check date of purchase. If still got a few months left faster go RMA...

Thanks. I got my pc in September 2012 and this gpu has 3 warranty. Guess I got a 2 more months to RMA. Which distributor to go RMA for for powercolor? Thanks
