Assembling my rig now but i realised my Asrock H81M-HDS R2.0 mobo only has 1 chassis fan connector.

My casing, Corsair graphite 230T, has two front intake fans and one exhaust fan at the back.

In addition, my GPU, Palit Jetstream GTX 960, seems to be blocking the chassis fan connector on the mobo. In the GPU box there seems to be what i assume is a fan power splitter (?)

how do i connect all 3 of my fans to the mobo??? your inputs are greatly appreciated!!!

The splitter in GPU box is for GPU usage only. Not for other stuff. Its for molex to 6pin power.

U would need to get a 3-pin splitter for your fans.

You can search for t258jgn in hwz. He may have what you need.

You sure your mobo is h81 MDS? no such model.... or is it H81M HDS?

Did u read the manual on the polacement of headers and components?

thanks for the quick reply! if t258jgn does not have it, is it possible to get it like say in Challenger?

PS: type wrongly, its H81M-HDS R2.0

attaching some pictures of the Chassis fan connector being "blocked" by my GPU. anyone faced the same problem before?

i read that if i buy a splitter to connect all 3 fans to the mobo, it might not be so good for the mobo. im reading up on fan controllers but im not exactly sure if that would work for my situation so any inputs is greatly appreciated.

PS: Seems like NZXT Sentry 3 might be a plausible solution? since it connects directly to PSU. My PSU is a FSP HEXA+ 550W and the available connectors are female ones; im not sure if the Sentry 3's connector is male or female?

i've the same board. u can try the fan splitter from Deepcool. it should be able to squeeze under the gpu. it's a neat solution n u can control the speed thru bios. no issue with multiple fans as long as u don't exceed 1A.

Deepcool PWM Fan Hub

or u can get any fan controller, if yr casing has 5.25 bay house it. Molex n fans plug to controller, bypass mobo.

There was a time back in the P4 days where my HSF start to fail... I just open up my casing and put a commerical standing fan right in front of it (less than a feet away from my table) and set it to max 3 speed. It does the same job :s13:

I was in an air con room as well, hence it was able to dissipate the heat fine, though abit heavy on my electric bills over long period (luckily managed to change the entire PC shortly after.)

Thanks for this post.

I was thinking of getting a Asrock H81M-HDS R2.0 and also realised that there was on one 1 chassis fan connector.

if I am building a i3 - 4160 or G3240 will it be ok to just connect the rear case fan to the motherboard? (i.e. using only one case fan) Will it cause any heat issues?

Not using any GPU & looking at getting the Thermaltake S21 or Cosair T230.

U sure there is only 1 fan header? Do download the manual and take a closer look...

This is the one that you connect the CPU fan to right?

Yes, and u can always play with it... nt necessary 1 fan per 1 header. U can splitters to connect a few at that port as well.

Splitter for cpu fan and rear fan. Then, 2nd header for front fans via splitter also.

Just to confirm, your mobo model is H81M HDS???? I dun see any MDS..
