URGENT!! Please HELP!!! Custom PC build 2017

My current cpu is dieing and hope to replace one. Budget around 1k or below 1k sgd. hope to recycle the some of the parts, ssd,cd drive,powersupply 650watt.
Purpose of the cpu is for gaming and doing my school work and doing some photo editing.

Thinking to get

1) intel i5-7500
2)casing techware titan ( clean black look)
3) gtx 1060

Any recommendation is fine as im a newbie and worry that the part i buy cant work after i purchase it.Kindly please help me out

problem is i doesnt really know my current spec as i bought it second hand about 3-5 years ago.1month ago just bought SSD for upgrade end up the cpu dieing on me having quite a number of issue. PSU currently still working... planning to change the psu only after it break.

Each board manufacturer got their add ons. ASUS one have a M.2 ssd slot while MSI don't. My experience with ASUS is one of the most positive I've worked with so far. So I'd usually recommend their board.

Same specs. Palit have dual fan, Zotac have one. But Zotac have 5 years warranty while Palit have the standard 3 years. Some people have bad affinity with Palit, so it's brand preference as well. Up to you which one you wanna get. I'm just suggesting a reference for you only.

MSI H110i Pro AC has built-in wireless AC adaptor for Wifi as compared to none on ASUS. So, u gotta weigh the pros and cons urself. M.2 slot or wireless AC.

If u r on budget, i doubt u will get nvme ssd as it is expensive. A built-in wireless is much more useful than m.2 slot for budget users. U can always still use sata ssd which is fast enough.

Thanks for the add on. Anyway Asus h110m-a m.2 speed is up to 20 Gbps only instead of the more common 32 Gbps on newer 200 series boards.

i see but i doubt i will use both m.2 slot or wifi at the moment so i guess really not much diff for. Thanks alot for helping... caused i didnt know much of the different as i usually use my computer for work and some gaming like battlefield and other. Went online and found some really nice looking custom pc so though maybe i can do something similar.

Stick to intel's stock cooler for now. Should u feel its noisy, then start to change it but at a later date.

Cpu cooler depends on how prone are you to noise. I'm pretty much insensitive to it, so stock fan is fine for me. During load I do admit it's noisy. If you hate the noise, then get like a cryorig H7 to replace it. Cheap and good hsf.

There are minor differences. Not notable unless you have 2 system side by side doing comparison or benchmark. B250 have m.2 slot, support slightly faster 2400mhz ram, more PCIE lanes, native Intel Optane support, and other even more minor details. Brand choosing is up to you as mentioned in previous post. Preference and ease of rma. Go research a bit who is the distributor for which brand and find their address so you know which distributor center closer to you to do rma if *touch wood* your mobo is faulty.

Tecware Titan is slightly easier to clean I think. You just pop the filter off instead of the whole front like the P400 to clean the front fan filter. The P400 is indeed a very beautiful yet budget friendly case. You can consider that too. At the end of the day, consider the casing last when your budget is limited.

M2 SSD is a new technology so I assume it's better and probably more expensive. However I saw on Qoo10 that WD ssd for both Sata and M2 version to be same price. If that's the case should I get M2??

M.2 is the form factor, SATA & NVME is the technology. M.2 is applicable to both technologies. M.2 SATA and SATA will have the same price whereas M.2 NVME and M.2 SATA will differ in price, the former being higher and faster in benchmarks.

WD BLUE M.2 is SATA-based ssd. It's the same speed as your normal 2.5" ssd. If same price and your mobo have m.2 slot, you can get that. Save the trouble of routing cables and do cable management. Most of the time, normal sata is cheaper.

SSD like Samsung EVO 950 or 960 m.2 versions are NVME-based SSD. If your motherboard can support, those SSD can run at higher speed, usually up to 32Gbps, much faster than the typical 6Gbps SATA-based SSD, at least theoretically much faster. They are also more expensive in general.

In real world scenario, the difference in day to day usage is very insignificant. Unless you do very large file size rendering or editing, where the files are constantly loading in and out of your SSD, only then the difference is significant. Will it be useful for gaming? Not really. Maybe improve loading by a couple of seconds. Not worth the money spent unless you really want the best of the best or your name is Percy.
