Urgent Question About Australian Visa

My dumbass brother is flying off to Australia tonight for a holiday but completely forgot to apply for a visa. We've applied online for ETA for him, but it might not be approved in time.

However, one of my office buddies mentioned that if you dont have a valid visa at the Changi Airport check in, they will apply one for you on the spot at a much higher fee..

Does anyone have any information about this?

Thanks and Regards

Just bring along the application lor. I thought ETA approval is immediate?

Without a valid visa, the airline might not even let you fly, the airlines are responsible for you (and your airfare back) if you get denied entry. So, would it be more worth it to pay the airline $30 or $40 for the visa or get rejected and fly only when you get the visa?

Bring his passport and airticket to any travel agents and they can apply and issue on the spot for you.
